Week 16 Lions vs. Broncos is a potential flex to Saturday

The NFL schedule was released with considerable fanfare on Wednesday night, though the full slate is not completely finalized. And one of the minor adjustments could affect the Detroit Lions.

Detroit’s Week 16 trip to Denver to face the Broncos is slated for Sunday, Dec. 22. However, in a media release from the NFL Communications department, the game is among five listed for a potential move to Saturday, Dec. 21.

There will be three games moved to Saturday and called by the “Thursday Night Football” crew on NFL Network. Detroit at Denver could be one of the three if either team is in playoff contention.

The five games under consideration to move to Dec. 21:

  1. Detroit Lions at Denver Broncos
  2. Oakland Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers
  3. Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots
  4. Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers
  5. Houston Texans at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The league will announce which one will be flexed during the season.
