DETROIT _ In his first start in four seasons, Chase Daniel earned a victory.
The Bears backup quarterback did enough against the Lions to help make up for the absence of starter Mitch Trubisky, who sat out Thursday's game with a right shoulder injury. Daniel hadn't started a game since he the Chiefs beat the Chargers in December 2014.
Daniel completed 27 of 37 passes for 230 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions to help the Bears to a 23-16 victory over the Lions at Ford Field. It was the Bears' fifth straight victory and moved their record to 8-3.
The Bears defense came up with two big interceptions to help put the game away.
Eddie Jackson had a pick-six in the fourth quarter. And with the Lions threatening to tie the game, cornerback Kyle Fuller grabbed his fifth interception of the season in the end zone.
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford tried to hit tight end Michael Roberts in the end zone on third-and-9 from the Bears' 11-yard line when Fuller came up with the pick.
