Two men are to stand trial accused of killing a young mum after allegedly supplying her with cocaine.

Barry McAuley, 39, and Martin Stewart, 33, are said to have "recklessly and unlawfully" given the "potentially lethal" class A drug to Rebecca Tollan on July 14 and 15 2019.

It is said to have happened at the Railway Tavern pub in Motherwell and at a house in Bellshill .

The culpable homicide charge states 23 year-old Rebecca died after taking the drug.

A top Tory Minister has been caught on video joking about the Christmas party that was reportedly held in Downing Street last year.

House of Commons leader Jacob Rees-Mogg raised a laugh about police investigating the event at this year’s Christmas party for a right-wing think tank.

Rees-Mogg told the audience at the Institute of Economic Affairs: “I see we’re all here obeying regulations, aren’t we?”

A vile Scots predator is behind bars after forcing a young girl to eat his faeces before sexually abusing her in the bath.

Lewis Ewan Petrie Smith, from Inverkeilor, Angus, was found guilty of multiple charges following a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh on Friday.

The 27-year-old subjected the girl, who was under the age of 13 at the time, to a series of violent beatings which saw him bite her nose and strangle her.

'Abhorrent' Scots woman caged after abusing kids for so long they thought it was normal

A woman who sexually abused two children for so long they thought it was normal has been jailed for three years and branded "abhorrent" by a sheriff.

In a 14-year campaign of depravity, Susan Abbott forced a boy to watch pornography and made him carry out sex acts to her while she molested him.

Abbott, 47, also made a girl perform indecent acts on her and physically assaulted both children after binging on Buckfast and vodka.

Tearful Allegra Stratton quits post in Boris Johnson's Government after Christmas party video row

A top UK Government official has quit over the Christmas party row engulfing Boris Johnson's Tory Government.

Allegra Stratton, a former journalist, offered her “profound apologies” in an emotional statement after footage emerged of her joking about a Downing Street Christmas party.

Johnson ordered an investigation into claims Downing Street staff broke lockdown rules by holding a Christmas party last year and told MPs he was “furious” about footage apparently showing aides laughing about it.
