Killer By the Lake
10.35pm, Channel 4
Three years after the events of Vanished By the Lake, Lise Stocker has settled down with Clovis and her baby by another lake, in Annecy. Then the discovery of two female corpses rocks her bucolic idyll in this sequel to the enormously popular French crime drama. Can the troubled detective confront her past demons? Will Clovis realise his wife looks rather different (Julie de Bona having replaced Barbara Schulz)? And will Lise finally get the message that hanging around lakes is a wee bit dangerous? In an episode written by Alice Nutter, formerly of Chumbawamba, the situation of the wealthy yet hapless Getty family takes a further farcical turn. Having cut off the kidnapped J Paul Getty’s ear, his captors are thwarted from delivering it to a local newspaper due to a postal strike. Only in Italy, only in the 1970s. David Stubbs
Dark Heart

The London-set police procedural continues with DI Will Wagstaffe and co investigating the eldritch case of a nurse found dead on the underground and caught on CCTV fleeing a seemingly invisible attacker. The series tries a bit too hard sometimes, but it’s diverting nonetheless. Continues Thursday. Jonathan Wright

Kevin McCloud invites us all to have a good nosey as he doorsteps the finalists of the Royal Institute of British Architects award. Episode one features a weirdly congruent selection of sleek boxes with interior gimmicks, including a brutalist Hackney monolith one neighbour describes as “a bit gulag”. Graeme Virtue

Melvyn Bragg’s stately if sedate culture dispatch returns with a profile of impressionist Tracey Ullman. She remains that rare figure: a British comic better known on the other side of the Atlantic, though the recent BBC sketch show Tracey Breaks the News has sought to correct that. Lenny Henry and Meryl Streep vouch for her brilliance.Gwilym Mumford

Film-maker Jeff Sterne is happy to label himself a “chubby chaser”, while supposedly promoting body positivity. This is a film full of contradictions as Sterne looks at how the idea of what’s desirable has changed over the years. His intentions may be sweet, but it’s hard not to cringe at some of the attitudes on show. Hannah Verdier

Jude Law’s newly unemployed salvage man, in league with shifty backers, captains a decrepit Soviet submarine and its volatile British-Russian crew in the search for a U-boat full of Nazi gold, sunk at the bottom of the Black Sea. It’s no Das Boot, but director Kevin Macdonald helms a serviceable underwater yarn. Paul Howlett
