Rangers fan left 'fighting for life' after being 'stabbed in neck multiple times' in Benidorm
A Scots holidaymaker was left fighting for his life after being "stabbed in the neck multiple times" at a bar in Spain. Samuel McNicholl was rushed to hospital late on Saturday, 1, October, following the horrifying incident at Broadway bar in Benidorm, Alicante.
The 20-year-old from Paisley, Renfrewshire is believed to have been enjoying a holiday with friends when he got into an altercation with a member of staff from the bar. Onlookers have revealed how they looked on in horror as the young Rangers fan clutched onto his neck whilst covered in blood.
An off duty nurse who was on holiday looked after Samuel until an ambulance arrived and rushed him off for surgery. He is believed to still be in hospital recovering from his injuries.
An angry mum has hit out at B&M after claiming their £20 wallpaper wouldn't stick to her walls.
Miriam Beck, from Bathgate, bought four rolls of the glittery silver wallpaper from the discount store in West Lothian. The 46-year-old was hoping to give her living room a 'spruce up' after her son and his partner moved out.
Miriam spent a total of £146 on the paper, paint and brushes for her DIY project with the wallpaper rolls priced at £20 each. But her home makeover soon turned into a disaster after seven failed attempts at sticking the paper to her living room walls.
Scots drug courier for crime gang jailed after police find £800,000 stash
An alleged middle manager in an organised crime gang was jailed for five years and eight months today after he was caught with a haul of cocaine worth nearly £900,000. Garry Jordan was driving a car near to Aviemore, in the Highlands, when he was intercepted by police who found approximately three kilos of the Class A drug.
A court heard that an analysis of messages from an encrypted Encrochat phone placed him "in a logistics role at a mid level in the hierarchy of the organised crime group". Jordan's accomplice, Steven McCallum, who was also in the vehicle, was jailed for four years for his role in the drugs offence. Jordan, of Thistle Neuk, Old Kilpatrick, in West Dunbartonshire, and McCallum, 34, of Kintyre Avenue, Linwood, in Renfrewshire, both earlier admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
Jordan pled guilty to being involved between March 27 and May 29 in 2020 and McCallum to involvement on a single day, May 29 in 2020, when the car was stopped.
Married couples over State Pension age could be due up to £278 each week from DWP
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) recently announced that following the success of its summer campaign to increase take-up of a benefit designed to boost the income of older people on a low income, the Pension Service has received an “unprecedented” number of new claims for Pension Credit.
The DWP also said that additional resources are being deployed to ensure claims for the ‘passport’ benefit - worth up to £3,300 a year on average in financial support and discounts - are being dealt with as quickly as possible.
It said: “Once an application has been received, claim decisions will be sent out in the post within six weeks. People can be reassured, successful claims will be backdated to the date the application was made, it is important those who are entitled do not miss out.”
Scots holidaymaker shares pic of 'ghost plane' with only three passengers
A bemused Scots holidaymaker has shared eerie images of their near empty flight from Edinburgh to Greece. Jak Scott "thought it was a joke" when he went to board his plane to Skiathos on Friday, September 30 and discovered there were no other passengers in sight.
Expecting a queue of jet setters, he says he was confused when despite a final call being announced via tannoy there was still little sign of other passengers.
Jak was then told by staff that there were just a handful of people on the flight, he then decided to document the deserted Jet 2 plane.
