Wedding of the Week: Stirling music teacher Amy marries engineer fiance Thomas

A Stirling bride and her groom were overjoyed to see family and friends gather for their wedding celebrations.

Miss Amy Sarah Bilsborough and Mr Thomas Coyle were married in the Blair Drummond Village Hall last month.

Amy, 28, grew up in Stirling’s Braehead area and attended Stirling High School where she now works as a music teacher. Thomas, 27, from Barrhead, is a drilling engineer working in the oil and gas industry.

The couple, who now live in Stirling, met through the Scout Association and in October 2019 Thomas proposed at the top of Suilven, the Scottish mountain which featured in the film ‘Edie’ starring Sheila Hancock.

With lockdown restrictions easing, the pair were married in a ceremony conducted by humanist celebrant Kate Buchanan at the Drummond Hall in Stirling on Saturday August 14, followed by a reception.

Thomas’ best man was his brother Brian Coyle while his youngest brothers Harry and Scott performed as ushers. Amy’s bridesmaid was her sister Ruth Currie.

Amy wore a short dress with lace bodice and capped sleeves while Tommy donned the Modern Douglas kilt.

The couple, who cut a wedding cake made by Morag Kerridge of Stirling, chose ‘Always’ by Atlantic Starr for their first dance, after which the wedding party and guests danced the night away.

The special day was captured by Stirling photographer John Urquhart of Corona Photography.

The new Mr and Mrs Coyle said: “We would like to thank all our friends and family who made it such a special, enjoyable day. We didn’t want the day to end.

“Our honeymoon will be next summer - wherever Covid restrictions allow us to go. Our favourite part of the day was just seeing everyone together after such a long time apart.”
