Wedding of the week: Coatbridge woman marries love of her life

The couple

April Strain, from Coatbridge, works as a bank administrator and Robert Murdoch, of Largs, is an innovations manager.

When they met

April and Robert met at work more than six years ago and Robert proposed on the third anniversary of their first date.

The wedding

The ceremony took place at St James’ Church in Coatbridge on March 30 and was attended by 150 members of their family and friends, followed with a reception in the Garfield House Hotel, Stepps, where a further 35 guests joined them to celebrate and dance the night away.

Attire

April wore a beautiful gown designed by Angelique Lamont in Glasgow, while Robert and his best men, ushers and page boy wore the Midnight Pride tartan from McCalls Kilt Hire, Glasgow.

Honeymoon

The newlyweds travelled to Puerto Rico on the picturesque island of Gran Canaria.

Bridal party

April’s maid of honour was her sister Michelle, her bridesmaids were best friends Emma Morgan, Kerri Docherty and Kiera Irvine and cousins Stephanie, Eva and Ella, with her nieces Paige and Libby as flower girls. Robert’s best men were best friends Chris Henderson and Ewan MacPhee; his ushers were brother Gordon and nephew Dylan with Robert’s nephew Noah his page boy.
