Detectives are appealing for support to trace a man they believe could help an investigation into a slashing.
Police hope Michael McDonagh can assist inquiries into an attack that saw a wedding guest assaulted in Netherton .
Emergency services were called to Stand Park Avenue just before 6pm on Tuesday, May 21.
It was reported a man had suffered a series of slash wounds close to the Our Lady of Walsingham social club, where he had been the guest at a wedding reception.
The victim, a 20-year-old man, was taken to hospital.
Four men were believed to have left the scene in a black Nissan X-Trail, reported to have been driven in the direction of Park Lane West .
Detective Inspector Graeme Towndrow said: “ This is a shocking incident , which has left a man with a significant slash wound, and we are determined to find those responsible and bring them to justice."
Merseyside Police believe Mr McDonagh could have information that could help the investigation and are appealing for anyone who knows where he is to come forward.
The force described him as white, 5ft 9in tall, of large build, ginger hair and sometimes having a ginger beard. He has blue eyes.
