Wedding guest slammed for wearing white dress leaving newlywed fuming

A furious bride has shamed a relative who wore a full-length white beaded gown to her wedding.

The Australian woman vented on Reddit's wedding shaming thread, posting a photo of the pair on the dancefloor.

“My relative who flew in from overseas to attend my wedding wore a full white beaded gown,” the bride wrote.

The bride wore an off-the-shoulder fitted white lace dress with a train. Meanwhile, her guest wore a white dress with a silver band around the waist and bead embroidery across the dress. The dress appears at least floor-length and has delicate decorative straps.

One person slammed the relatives dress as 'at least one size too small'.

They wrote: "Maybe next time she can at least buy a dress her size.

"I can't imagine she tried to upstage you, if she tried to do that she probably would've bought a nice or better fitting dress."

Another person agreed the dress looked a bad fit: "Tight around the tummy and doesn't suit her. You absolutely shine".

And another Reddit user concurred: "Thats' just wrong. Rude and wrong."

But others weren't so quick to judge the woman's fashion choice and queried if her error was rooted in a cultural difference.

One person wrote: "Many other countries don’t have the white dress taboo that America/Australia/a few other countries has. She might not have realized..."

The bride responded: “I thought the same, but we are the same ethnic group. In fact, traditionally she should have worn blue or pink.

“Personally, I don’t expect them to follow that rule but it was indeed a shock to see that dress.”

The Reddit wedding thread has more than 79,000 members and describes itself as a place to 'shame wedding themes, brides, grooms, wedding parties, in-laws, outlaws, guests, Uncle Bob and vendors'.

It seems that the relative isn't the only woman to pick the wrong outfit for a wedding, with another guest's attire shamed on the thread for an entirely different reason.

Posting earlier this month, a horrified person shared a photo of a woman wearing a white corset that looked more like underwear than day-wear.

The photo shows a woman posing with a suited chap while sporting a strapless, lace - mostly see through - corset. With most of her chest on display, it's easy to see why Reddit users were quick to question if she was wearing lingerie.

One person wrote: "Looks like a corset. Tacky AF."

Another agreed: "It's a wedding. Not the club. Very tacky."

And one Reddit user shared their own similar horror story: "At my cousin's wedding, one of his friend's girlfriend was very statuesque and beautiful, and she wore a top similar to this with sheer m.c. hammer pants over cheeky booty shorts.

"She was model material so she looked "good," but it was poor taste to wear something so sexy and flashy to someone's casual wedding."
