Wedding cake that shows armed bride dragging her 'dead' husband slammed

A hunting-themed wedding cake has caused outrage after it displayed the bride dragging her 'dead' husband while armed with a rifle.

A photo of the cake was shared online and it was slammed as "gross" and "trashy",

The cake shows the bride in her wedding dress armed with a rifle under her right arm, while dragging her husband, wearing camouflage, away.

The cake was designed to look like a tree stump, with other decorations displaying large bullets, a deer, and leaves.

A sign on the strange cake read: "The Hunt Is Over".

The picture, which was posted on Reddit's Wedding Shaming forum, left users stunned.

One comment read: "A trashy idea, but well executed. Can't say it's a graceful wedding cake though.."

Another said: "Came to say this. Well made cake but omg so tacky."

"At least the groom isn’t bloody?", said another.

"Did she... shoot him? That's not a good way to start a marriage" another said.

Others though explained what they thought the idea behind the unique wedding cake was.

A commenter explained: "The hunt means she was looking for a husband and finally found it."

"The bride 'bagged' herself a husband. That's why 'The hunt is over'. The Hunt for her husband is over.

"I guess you could look at it as "the bride murdered the groom", but it's really missing the whole point of it. It's meant to be playful.

"I still would never use it as a wedding cake myself, but maybe the groom/they are just really into hunting and who are we to judge that?"

Another said: "I don’t think she murdered him I think she’s dragging him away from hunting to get married."

Graceful Cake Creations, who designed the cake, said that it was actually a theme for a groom's cake, not a traditional wedding cake.

In fact, they said the idea of a woman dragging her husband is a common idea which has been around for ten years in different forms.

The baker told the Mail Online : "I think the point is she got her man so the hunt for a husband is over."

They added that "no one was shot" in the depiction.
