Wedding Cake Rock: Video shows dramatic rescue of men after fall from cliff edge

Two young men have been rescued after falling from the top of Wedding Cake Rock in Australia.

The two men in their early twenties became stranded on a ledge a few metres below the cliff top.

One fell a few metres and suffered head injuries before the other also became stuck when trying to help him.

The injured man was airlifted to a hospital in Sydney, after being treated for his injuries at the scene. He is reportedly now in a stable condition.

Wedding Cake Rock has become notorious for its precarious state, attracting many tourists for the opportunity to take daring photos.

In June this year, the rock was described as "precariously balancing on the edge of the cliff" and likely to fall into the sea below within 10 years according to the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Last year a French student fell to his death at the cliff, although police ruled out the possibility of him taking a photo as he fell.
