The BBC's business correspondent, Peter Morgan, is quitting to join public relations firm Weber Shandwick Worldwide.
He will lead a team focusing on European business media for WSW clients including Coca-Cola, Eastman Kodak, General Motors and Microsoft.
The signing follows WSW's recent appointment of Michael Prescott, the former political editor of the Sunday Times, who takes up the position of vice-chairman at the firm this autumn.
Mr Morgan recently led business coverage during the election campaign for the BBC's 10 O'Clock News, and has covered almost every major national and international business and economics story of the past decade for the corporation.
"I have spent most of my working life finding what is newsworthy, interesting and important in the world of business," he said.
"I see my new role as an extension of that work, and I am looking forward to being involved more directly with a wide range of companies."
The two latest media signings at WSW join David Peel, the former head of press at Downing Street, and Tessa Curtis, the former correspondent on business and City affairs at the BBC and Daily Telegraph who head up the firm's financial and broadcast & interactive practices.
