Web: Autumn roses in full bloom at Tokyo botanical gardens
Paper: Tokyo rose
Roses bloom in varying hues at the Jindai Botanical Gardens in Chofu, Tokyo. About 5,000 bushes will blanket the 1.6 hectare rosarium in vibrant reds, pinks, and yellows from 300 varieties of rose during peak season through mid-November. The late-blooming roses are smaller than those in spring, but offer an appealing bright color and strong fragrance in the morning. The park will be open early from 8 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays until Oct. 30. Advance registration on the park's website is required, as the number of visitors is restricted amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
