Weatherman Owain Wyn Evans shows off injury after hitting himself in face with drumstick ahead of 24-hour challenge

Popular Welsh weatherman Owain Wyn Evans has received inuries after hitting himself in the face with a drumstick while preparing for his mega Children In Need challenge.

The 37-year-old from Ammanford is taking on an epic 24-hour drumming challenge to raise money for BBC's Children In Need and is currently practising for the challenge.

Sharing to Instagram, the presenter showed the bump on his nose and believes he may also get a black eye from the accident.

He said: "BBC Breakfast Drumathon training update. This weekend I bashed myself in the face with a drumstick and as a result have a bruised nose and potential black eye" followed by a laughing and crying emoji.

Celebratory pals, including Carol Vorderman, have commented on the post reassuring Owain.

Carol said: "Ooh but you do look very butch like that DAHHHHHLING x"

And drag queen Victoria Scone said: "Still segsyy" with H from Steps simply posting face palm emojis.

Owain announced the challenge from his hometown Ammanford two weeks ago on BBC Breakfast - this will not be the first time viewers will see Owain on the drums as he has drummed the BBC News theme tune on the programme previously.

His challenge will begin on Friday, November 12 as he will aim to drum non-stop for 24 hours and he had messages of good luck from celebrities including Dave Grohl.
