Weatherman loses it on camera during tornado warning that interrupted The Bachelorette

An Ohio weatherman has gained online notoriety after railing against his audience for complaining that they had interrupted the broadcast of The Bachelorette to warn residents of tornadoes in the area.

Jamie Simpson attempts to give updates on the tornadoes in the Dayton area in the viral clip, only to get peeved when viewers tweeted at him and his station to turn the reality television show back on.

So, during his forecast, Mr Simpson took a moment for a lecture.

“We have viewers complaining already, ‘just go back to the show.’ No, we’re not going back to the show folks. This is a dangerous situation,” Mr Simpson said.

He continued, describing what is apparently a frequent issue for the channel when extreme weather events are spotted.

“I’m sick and tired of people complaining about this. Our job here is to keep people safe and that’s what we’re going to do,” Mr Simpson continued.

“Some of you complain that this is all about my ego. Stop, ok?” he said. “Just stop right now. It’s not.”

Hannah Brown, the bachelorette this season, saw the drama, too. She spoke up on Twitter in defence of the meteorologist.

“Lolz too funny, thanks Dayton, Ohio for the love, but be safe. [Tornadoes] are no joke."
