Weather warnings for Scotland every day this week - here's what it means for Glasgow

We may have waved goodbye to January but winter weather still continues in Scotland.

As of Monday morning, every day of the week ahead is tagged with a Met Office weather warning.

There's a yellow weather warning in place, either for snow, or ice and snow, between now and the weekend.

But how will Glasgow be affected?

  • A snow and ice yellow warning is in place from 10pm this evening until 11.59pm tomorrow, covering much of Scotland, including Glasgow and the surrounding area. The temperature is set to hover around the 2C mark overnight.
  • On Wednesday, two separate weather warnings for snow will be in place for the entirety of the day - one, covering Lanark and south, the other, just north of Stirling and towards the Highlands, meaning Glasgow is likely to miss out on snow this time round.
  • From midnight on Thursday, all the way through until 6am on Saturday morning, a fresh yellow warning for snow will be in force, covering Strathclyde. However, according to the Met Office, snow is not expected to fall on Glasgow itself, but towards the Argyll and Bute region.

According to forecasters, we'll experience a top temperature of just 3C in our city this week, while it could cool to around -2C overnight.
