Weather warning issued for ice in Nottinghamshire overnight

Drivers and walkers across Nottinghamshire have been told to expect icy conditions tonight and heading into tomorrow as a weather warning was issued.

Icy patches may cause some tricky travel conditions, the Met Office has said.

A yellow weather warning has been put in place across the county and most of northern England from 6pm on Sunday January 3 to 11am on Monday January 4.

Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing overnight which will cause snow and rainy conditions to freeze over.

The Met Office predicted snow earlier on Saturday (January 2) and just a few hours later it began to fall.

Fairly heavy snowfall was reported in Upper Saxondale.

And Sunday could bring similar conditions with 'snow and rain' predicted between 4pm and 6pm.

According to AccuWeather, there is a 63 percent chance of snow and rain from 4pm today in the city.
