Lucknow: Light to moderate rains occurred at many places over eastern Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the western part of the state in the past 24 hours, the MeT Department said on Thursday.
Mehdawal recorded 13 cm rainfall, Gorakhpur and Domariyaganj 11 cm each, Shrawasti 10 cm and Nichlaul and Bansi 9 cm each. Similarly, Balrampur and Khalilabad recorded 8 cm rainfall each, Birdghat and Palliakalan 6 cm each, and Kushi Nagar, Akbarpur and Rigoli recorded 5 cm rainfall each.
The highest maximum temperature over the state was 36.6 degrees Celsius at Agra observatory, while the lowest minimum temperature over the state was 21 degrees Celsius at Basti observatory, the weather office said.
Rain/thundershowers are very likely at many places in the state on August 27, the MeT Department said. (PTI)
