Weather update for Leeds United fans travelling today amid disruptions caused by Storm Arwen

Leeds United supporters face a round trip of over 500 miles today as they travel south to the Amex Stadium where they face Brighton.

Those kind of journeys can be bad enough at the best of times but there is the increased possibility of further delays today.

Storm Arwen has caused problems throughout the country overnight with freezing conditions and extreme wind.

Travelling Whites fans will have been worried at the sight of snow in West Yorkshire last night but will be relieved to hear that there isn’t even a light covering in Brighton (as of Saturday morning).

However, the wind still continues to cause problems and a yellow weather warning has been put in place to account for the conditions.

That warning is expected to be rescinded at 6pm which means the long, late journey home from the south coast should not be affected massively.

According to the Met Office, it should be dry at the Amex Stadium for the majority of the evening match although the temperature looks set to be capped at a very chilly four degrees.

The weather shouldn’t pose many, if any, issues to the train service unless the wind picks up dramatically between now and the kick-off time of 5:30pm.

The worst of the storm is said to have passed so the journey back to Leeds, whether by road or by rail, should be almost completely clear.
