Weather outlook for Nottinghamshire as forecasters predict snow could fall this week

More snow could be falling in Nottingham this week, according to forecasters.

There is a "100 percent chance" of snow in the city on Thursday January 14 in the city, according to the iOS weather app, which is powered by The Weather Channel.

But the Met Office is not yet predicting snow in the city.

There are currently no weather warnings in place for Nottinghamshire as of Tuesday morning (January 12).

Wednesday looks set for a day of rain, according to forecasters, but this could turn to snow on Thursday if it gets cold enough.

Temperatures which feel like 0C are predicted on Thursday (January 14).

Giving its forecast for the week ahead across the East Midlands, the Met Office said for Wednesday: "Starting bright in the east, but quickly clouding over with outbreaks of rain for most by midday.

"Hill snow is likely over the Peak District and it will stay cold. Maximum temperature 5 °C."

And for the outlook of Thursday it added: "Rain, heavy at times continuing through Thursday, but gradually easing. Dry and bright on Friday after a frosty and icy start. Further rain and hill snow likely on Saturday."
