Weather: Met Office forecasts six hours of snow for Bristol

Forecasters are predicting a solid six hours of snowfall in Bristol next week.

The Met Office shared a yellow weather warning today (Saturday, February 6) for snow and ice, which will be in place overnight.

While the Met does not expect snow in Bristol this weekend, the outlook for next week is now looking more promising for fans of snow.

Its experts are forecasting snow on both Thursday and Friday (February 11 and 12), while the BBC is forecasting snow for Friday but not Thursday.

The Met Office's chart shows a 60 per cent chance of light snow in Bristol from midday on Thursday, which could last until 6pm.

It is also predicting a brief snow shower at 9am on Friday morning.

Meanwhile the BBC's weather experts have tipped the end of the week as most likely to see snow.

Its current forecast (as of this evening) is for light snow on Friday, between 7am and 11am.

Temperatures are expected to stay around freezing or just above.
