Weather: It won't be bad all day, say Met Office

The UK weather forecast from the Met Office for Sunday June 28 is for a better day across much of the country, especially Bristol, than Saturday.

With heavy rain showers and stormy conditions, Saturday was something of a wash out, but the prediction for Sunday is for a nicer day altogether - albeit after a wet start.

Sunday morning will start with the overnight rain taking its time to gradually disappear - there will be sunshine and showers for most of the morning, with a 40 per cent chance of getting caught in the rain at any given moment.

But by lunchtime, the rain should gradually have passed overhead and the cloud will gradually break up leaving a fairly pleasant afternoon, with increasingly long spells of sunshine.

Temperatures will be nowhere near the heights of last week, when the mercury tipped into the low 30s deg C - in fact, it will struggle to get up to close to the average for the time of year - just 17 deg C the high for Sunday in Bristol.

And the sunny afternoon won't last into the evening either. The forecast is for the cloud to continue to build as the sunsets, with a cloudy evening and cloudy but largely dry day in store on Monday too.

The outlook for next week is for largely dull and cool days with spells of sunny weather and the odd shower - although gradually brightening up later in the week, but with the temperatures still below average for the time of year at a cool 17 or 18deg C.
