Weather in Leeds: Hour-by-hour weather forecast for city today as temperatures set to soar

More sunny weather is predicted for Leeds today with temperatures expected to reach highs of 21°C.

Yesterday marked the hottest day of the year so far and similar weather is predicted today.

The forecast on the Met Office reads: "A locally chilly start but dry and bright with periods of sunshine, sometimes hazy with some fair-weather cloud. Becoming very warm through the afternoon with light winds. Maximum temperature 21 °C."

Hundreds of people flocked to various parks across the city including Woodhouse Moor, in Hyde Park, to take advantage of the good weather.

However, scenes from the park this morning (Wednesday) showed the green space covered in beer bottles, alcohol boxes, as well as silver gas canisters and leftover rubbish from the huge crowds, likened to a festival.

Residents have since slammed the sunseekers as they fear this could lead the city back into another lockdown.

With the weather expected to be warm for the second day in a row, crowds may flock to the popular park once again.
