Weather in Dublin today: UK's 'Indian summer' as Met Eireann has two WARNINGS in place but THUNDER-RAIN for Ireland this weekend

Saturday will have a blustery start to the day with good sunny spells and scattered showers with some turning heavy.

Southwesterly winds will be fresh to strong and gusty with top temperatures hitting 17C.

The nighttime will be mostly dry with good clear spells but as it gets closer to the morning, a few isolated showers may break out.

Lowest temperatures will dip to around 10C with moderate to fresh and gusty southwest winds.

There is also two marine warnings in place for the day as of 5am on Saturday morning.

A status yellow, gale warning will see "Southwesterly winds reaching gale force on Irish coastal waters from Slyne Head to Rossan Point to Malin Head."

As well as this, there is a status yellow, small craft warning in place for the country.

This means: "Southwest to westerly winds will occasionally reach force 6 or higher on coasts from Malin Head to Wicklow Head to Slyne Head."

Sunday will be a blustery and showery day with good sunny spells. During the morning, the showers will become widespread and during the afternoon and evening, some will become heavy with the risk of isolated thundery downpours.

Temperatures will hit a max of 19C in fresh and gusty southwest to westerly winds.

So, the temperatures are high-ish for the weekend but not high enough to experience the 'Indian summer' that the UK is predicting.

A scorching new heatwave with glorious temperatures soaring to 30C will bake Britain later in the month, forecasters say.

The swathe of tropical air is set to sweep from Asia across Europe in the next few days, it's understood.

The Met Office says this will lead to soaring temperatures, a blanket of high pressure and at last a stop to downpours, which have caused severe flooding in central and northern parts of England.
