Weather in Dublin today: Three WARNINGS in place by Met Eireann as heavy rain hits Ireland

It's going to be one of those days where you'll be putting off and on your jumper or jacket every couple of minutes as Met Eireann predicts a rather mixed Wednesday on the weather front.

It will be blustery at first with good spells of sunshine but as the day goes on, this sunshine will turn into rain with showers expected for the capital.

Temperatures will reach highs of 16C with fresh to strong and gusty northwest winds.

This rain is set to continue for the rest of the week as Thursday and Friday will both see showers but temperatures will remain in the high teens.

As we look into the weekend, Saturday and Sunday are set to be dry with sunny spells and top temperatures of 19C.

As well as this, Met Eireann has three weather warnings in place for Wednesday with two marine warnings issued at 6am on Wednesday morning and an environmental Potato Blight warning in place since Monday.

The status yellow, gale warning means that "West to northwest winds, veering north to northwest will reach gale force today on coasts from Loop Head to Malin Head to Howth Head and on the north Irish Sea and will occasionally reach strong gale force between Rossan Pt and Belfast Lough".

There's also a status yellow, small craft warning in place which means that "West to northwest winds will reach force 6 or 7 today on Irish coastal waters from Howth Head to Roches Pt to Loop Head."
