Weather in Dublin today: Met Eireann issues three WARNINGS for Ireland as heavy rainfall set to batter country

Don't let the morning time sunshine fool you because Dublin is set to be battered by heavy rain this evening and tonight.

Thursday will start off with early mist and fog patches but they will clear to become mainly dry with bright and sunny spells.

As the day rolls into the evening though, heavy rain will develop and spread.

Temperatures will reach highs of 22C with light easterly breezes which will freshen as the day ends.

The heavy rain will continue into the nighttime too with temperatures dropping to 14C.

As well as this, Met Eireann has three weather warnings in place for the country.

All of Munster and Leinster have been issued with a status yellow rainfall warning.

Met Eireann says: "Heavy Rain will spread from the south Thursday evening and night.

"Accumulations of 25 to 40mm will occur over a relatively short time period. Spot flooding is likely."

The warning is in place for 12 hours from 7pm on Thursday until Friday at 7am.

Also, there is a status yellow, small craft warning which means that "easterly winds will increase to force 6 or 7 this evening on coasts from Carnsore Pt to Valentia to Erris Head, extending to all coasts early tonight".

And the third warning is a status yellow blight warning as weather conditions conducive to the spread of Potato Blight will develop tonight and on Friday. There will be opportunities for spraying today.
