It's another freezing morning in Dublin with Met Eireann issuing a warning to motorists about hazardous driving conditions.
A Status Yellow fog warning remains in place until 1pm this afternoon with the forecaster saying it will be dense with a risk of freezing in places.
On top of this, icy stretches and lingering fog patches inland are leading to dangerous driving conditions in parts of the city this morning.
After the fog clears it will remain extremely cold with temperatures of just 1 to 4C with a mix of scattered showers and sunny spells.
There will be more showers at first tomorrow although it will remain dry for the rest of the day and will become slightly warmer, with highs of 6 to 7C.
But things will take a dramatic turn from Wednesday with heavy rain set to batter the country.
The day will begin dry before thickening cloud from the west extends countrywide through the afternoon and evening bringing heavy downpours.
The rain will become patchy over Wednesday night before another heavy spell comes in from the west on Thursday, remaining heavy through the night.
And the outlook for the weekend isn't looking great with the forecaster saying conditions will remain "rather unsettled" with more rain at times.
