Weather in Dublin: Met Eireann forecast very cold day ahead as winter sets in

It’s looking like a typical October day ahead, with a full range of wintry weather forecast for Dublin.

And it's going to be cold.

Met Eireann say this of Tuesday’s climate in the capital: "Bright and breezy today with sunny spells and the chance of a few passing showers.”

The weather experts add that it will feel “cool" with maximum temperatures of 9 or 10 degrees in brisk easterly winds.

Tonight

Tonight will be mainly dry with clear spells, and just the chance of the “odd" light shower, Met.ie tells us.

We're in for a fairly typical October day - and it'll be cold (Met Eireann)

Tomorrow

It looks set to be mostly dry on Wednesday with a good deal of cloud but also some hazy sunny spells, Met Eireann forecasts.

We can expect highest temperatures of 10 to 11 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty easterly breezes.

National Outlook

Overview for Thursday and Friday: Becoming increasingly unsettled with spells of wet and windy weather expected.

The outlook is more of the same, mixed-bag wintry weather including cloud, rain and some dry spells - with top temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees.

Weekend

At this stage Met Eireann expect the weekend to remain "unsettled", with areas of low pressure moving close to Ireland bringing spells of rain and the risk of very windy conditions at times.

They add that temperatures will be "close to average for the time of year".
