The Eighties smash hit song It's Raining Men is to have its lyrics changed to be more inclusive.
The well-known Weather Girls' hit will change to 'It's Raining Them' in order to mark World Pride month and also to celebrate non-binary and other artists from the trans community.
Other lyrics in the song will also be reworked in order to ensure the song is fully inclusive.
In the remastered version, the original lyrics, 'Tall, blonde, dark and lean/ Rough and tough and strong and mean' have been replaced with 'Cool, bold, strong and keen/Proud and loud and here and seen'.
The line which says to 'God bless Mother Nature, she's a single woman too' has now been changed to 'they're a single person'.
The line 'So that each and every woman could find her perfect guy' has been changed to 'So that each and every person could find their perfect type'.
The inclusive version has been given the thumbs up by the songs writer, Paul Shaffer.
However rather than the Weather Girls singing it, it will be performed by Mila Jam, an American transgender singer and gay rights activist, according to the Daily Mail.
Jam said: "It's an honour to perform It's Raining Them.
"For all artists in the LGBTQ+ community I believe the future is ours, it's now, and we must shine.
"We haven't always been in this position, so I think it's important that we tell our stories and make some good out of it.
"I really hope this record helps more of my siblings feel included. We've always been here, we aren't going anywhere and we must continue to dance."
Nigel Harding, VP of Artist Relations at Deezer added: “Trans and non-binary people have been marginalised throughout history, including within the LGBTQ+ movements. We want to do our part by giving the community a voice and a platform to be heard. We’re proud to support amazing artists and activists like Mila Jam.
"We will continue to celebrate Queer and LGBTQ+ music with our dedicated Queer Culture Channel and remain as an ally and a friend for the whole community.”
It’s Raining Them, is sung by Mila Jam and is a brand new on streaming service Deezer Originals, available from today, Friday, August 20, with its accompanying music video on YouTube.
