Weather forecasters change exact date of when snow will fall in the UK in November

Forecasters have changed the date of when they expect snow to fall in November- and it may be sooner than you think.

With temperatures plunging as we get closer and closer to December, weather experts are predicting that snow could fall for Bonfire Night.

The sky will be lit up in colourful fireworks this Saturday and Sunday as people celebrate the event which is also known as Guy Fawkes Day, Birmingham Live reports.

And with the frosty weather, anybody attending a display for a hot chocolate, hot dog, burger, or cone of chips will need their gloves, scarves, and hats on.

Jim Dale from British Weather Services told the Sun newspaper: "It is going to turn colder.

"The jet stream will move southwards over the coming days allowing a northerly, polar airflow.

"Showers may turn wintry over the hills in the north and there will be a risk of frosts."

Exacta Weather’s James Madden told the publication: "We could start to see some significant snow events over higher ground.

"Looking to Bonfire Night and there will be a risk of widespread frosts as we get a taste of some early wintry conditions."

It comes after the Met Office has hinted snow could fall between November 15 and November 29.

The clocks have changed and the weather has taken a sharp turn for the colder, with a snap in the air and chilly conditions winning out early this week.

The dark nights have also begun, with it getting dark at around 5pm after the clocks changed this weekend.
