The Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans could get a little wet on Thursday at Arrowhead Stadium.
Following the coldest Sept. 9th in Kansas City history, forecasts for Thursday’s game from Weather.com, AccuWeather, National Weather Service and 41 Action News call for cooler temperatures in the mid-50’s throughout the game. The precipitation projections vary from outlet to outlet. Some forecasts expect possible showers and thunderstorms throughout the game, while others anticipate cloud coverage and no rain.
If you’re one of the lucky 17,000 or so to attend the game, it’s best to bring a rain poncho just in case. The weather shouldn’t impact the Chiefs much at all rain or otherwise, as the team practiced in rain showers at Arrowhead Stadium during their final practice of training camp.

As for wind, don’t expect it to play a big factor in the game. There will be a north-northeast-facing wind with speeds up to 12 miles per hour. Kicker Harrison Butker is said to have added at least 5-10 yards of range to his PATs and field goals this offseason, so that could help offset some breezy conditions during the game.
Be sure to check the Missouri Department of Transportation website for any road closures or delays on the way to Arrowhead Stadium.
