Weather forecast for On The Waterfront Thursday, June 29

It has been a very dull start to the week, casting concerns for the weather over the On The Waterfront music event.

The festival showcasing an array of local talent including headliner Jamie Webster and The Coral as well as James on Sunday, kicks off today and many will be wondering if they will need to pack a brolly. According to the Met Office, while it will be slightly cooler than what we are currently used to, it will be dry and bright.

Thursday looks set to be filled with sunshine after a small amount of cloud cover in the morning. Blue skies will be a welcome sight as Jamie Webster takes to the stage this evening. There will be highs of 18°C but it may feel like 15° at times due to the cool north-westerly breeze.

The Met Office said: "A much brighter and drier day with a mix of sunny spells and showers, perhaps the odd heavy shower. Temperatures closer to average for the time of year."

At the moment, it is looking like the best day for the four day event as forecasters are predicting unsettled weather patterns ranging from sunny spells and showers to more prolonged periods of rain.
