Weather forecast for Nottingham as experts predict sunny spells

Weather forecasters are predicting brighter weather across Nottinghamshire over the next few days after the area avoided snow.

A yellow warning for snow and ice remains in place for most of Friday, January 8. However, the hour-by-hour forcase for the day by the MET Office predicts much of the county will avoid any snow showers.

Here is the forecast for Nottingham for the next few days.

Today:

A rather cold and cloudy day, with outbreaks of patchy rain, sleet and snow moving slowly southwards. Snow mostly confined to hills, but not exclusively. It will become drier with clear spells developing by evening, perhaps a few coastal showers. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly dry with lengthy clear skies inland overnight. A widespread frost with the risk of icy stretches forming. A few light showers are likely along the east coast. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

Saturday:

After a cold and frosty start, it will be mostly fine and dry, with good spells of sunshine. Despite the sunshine and light winds, it will feel rather cold. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Turning cloudier on Sunday, after a cold and frosty start. Outbreaks of rain will slowly edge southwards on Monday. Windy and less cold. Drier, brighter and milder on Tuesday.
