Weather experts predict the date that snow will fall in Liverpool

Forecasters have predicted when Liverpool will see snow this winter.

Merseyside has, up to now, experienced a fairly mild November - though we are seeing some cooler temperatures this week.

Anyone heading outside needs to wrap up warm, but it's not just the cold we need to be aware of, with the Met Office issuing a yellow wind warning for Saturday (November 27).

It is expected to cause travel disruption in some areas including delays on roads across the region and to public transport, with gales of up to 40mph.

Snow has been forecast for some parts of Scotland this week, with other parts of the UK set to see snow this weekend, thanks to an Arctic chill sweeping in.

Those in Merseyside who are hoping to see snow will have a while longer to wait.

Global weather experts Accuweather predict Liverpool will gets its first snowfall on December 24.

Forecasters say the city will experience lows of 0C - which will feel more like -3C - this Saturday, but given the wind and rain predicted, the conditions won't be right for snow.

The next time the region will be this cold will be Christmas Eve, with Accuweather predicting "a morning snow shower in some spots" of Merseyside.

Christmas Day, according to forecasters, will be mostly sunny with highs of 6C.
