Weather Alert in UP: IMD issues red alert for Western and Eastern UP

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a yellow alert for Delhi and its adjoining areas, predicting cloudy sky with light rainfall.

On Friday morning, light to moderate rain was reported from several parts of Delhi. The minimum temperature in the National capital settled at 23.6 degrees, whereas the relative humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. stood at 85 Percent.

“The maximum temperature is likely to settle at 30 degree Celsius” , said the IMD. The air quality in Delhi has remained in the moderate category in most of the places on Friday morning.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) the Air quality index (AIQ) in Anand Vihar stood at 107 at 10:00 am. Meanwhile the IMD has issued a red alert in western and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh. “Heavy to very heavy rain with extremely heavy rain accompanied with thunderstorms/lightning at isolated places in parts of West and East UP,” it said.

“Heavy rain accompanied with thundershower/lightning in isolated places of Haryana and eastern Rajasthan,” IMD said in the alert. (UNI)
