Wearing face coverings on public transport will be compulsory from Monday

Wearing face coverings on public transport will be compulsory from Monday, the Taoiseach has confirmed.

Regulations making this legally enforceable will be in effect from next week.

Micheal Martin was speaking in Dublin this afternoon after a meeting with Health Minister Stephen Donnelly and HSE Chief Executive Paul Reid.

The trio were discussing plans for the winter months, something Mr Martin described as "far more difficult and complex" than previous years due to the continued fight against Covid-19.
