Weapons linked to ' violence on the street' recovered by police

Police have recovered wooden clubs and a knife in the Kirkby area.

Three wooden clubs and a knife were found on Westhead Walk in Northwood yesterday (Tuesday, July 13)

The recovery was made in the residential area by Kirkby's local policing team. Police have said the recovery reduces the possibility of "violence on the street."

Sharing a photograph of the weapons on social media last night, police commented: "Kirkby local policing team have discovered an array of weapons on Westhead Walk, Northwood today. Offenders will store items like this in public areas where they can be easily accessed. Taking them out of reach means we're reducing the likelihood of violence on the street.

"If you ever find weapons on the street, tell us by reporting online here www.merseyside.police.uk/ or sending a direct message to the Merseyside Police Contact Centre page."
