A wealthy German family which owns huge stakes in Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and other large firms will give more than £8 million to charity after finding out their ancestors were Nazis .
The Reimann clan, which also owns a share in Pret a Manger, made extensive use of forced labour under the Third Reich.
Albert Reimann and Albert Reimann Jr used Russian civilians and French POWs as slave labour in the 1940s, German newspaper BILD says tonight.
Reimann Jr even moaned to a town mayor that his French POWs weren't working hard enough, new documents reveal.
An estimated 30% of its workforce was forced labourers during this period.
Now a family spokesman has expressed the family's disgust.
Peter Harf, representing the Reimanns, said: "It's all correct. Reimann senior and Reimann junior were guilty... they belonged in jail.

"We were all ashamed and turned as white as the wall.
"There is nothing to gloss over. These crimes are disgusting."
The family has pledged to give the hefty £8.5million to charitable causes by way of apology.
"The whole truth must be put on the table," Mr Herf added.
JAB Holding, which is the family's business, owns the huge stakes in various businesses.
Pressure is growing in Germany for the new report to be made public.
