Wealth management firm appoints new portfolio manager

Wealth management company Thorntons Investments has appointed Gail Craig as portfolio manager in its Edinburgh team.

Craig moves from Brown Shipley with more than 25 years' investment management experience.

In her previous job she managed discretionary and advisory portfolios for trusts, pensions, charities, offshore bonds and AIM. She has also held investment management positions with Newton Investment Management, Lindsays and Torrie & Co Stockbrokers.

Thorntons Investments began in 1995 as a financial planning service for clients of Dundee-based law firm Thorntons and has grown into a company in its own right.

Thorntons Investments chief executive Stephen Webster said: “Gail brings a wealth of investment knowledge, a strong network and excellent client liaison skills to the team and is a welcome addition to our Edinburgh office as we continue to grow our presence in the capital.

"She has the experience and insight to create investment solutions to meet a wide variety of client needs and will play a key role in delivering continuous improvement in our service quality.”

Craig added: “I am joining Thorntons Investments at a very exciting time and look forward to being part of their plans for growth. The firm has an excellent reputation for client service and their investment expertise is recognised within the industry. I am greatly looking forward to working with such a knowledgeable investment team.”
