'Weak! Where was he going?' BBC pundit blasts the two Arsenal players at fault for Spurs' opener

Former Chelsea and Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton has been critical of two Arsenal players after the early goal for Tottenham in the north London derby.

Christian Eriksen opened the scoring for Spurs in the tenth minute of the north London derby at the Emirates Stadium, after Bernd Leno only parried a right-footed shot from Erik Lamela into the path of the Danish international.

But while Sutton was critical of the Arsenal goalkeeper for his involvement in the goal, he also highlighted a defensive error by David Luiz in the build up to the goal, with Tottenham forward Heung-min Son moving clear of the former Chelsea man in the middle of the park after the Brazilian had committed himself.

“It is weak goalkeeping from Bernd Leno, and he should be doing better," Sutton said, speaking as a commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“Christian Eriksen can’t miss. It wasn’t the most powerful shot [from Lamela], it was a tame effort really, and Christian Eriksen couldn’t believe his luck.”

“Let’s talk about David Luiz for a second, where was he going? He is turned far too easily there."

The goal came after Arsenal had made a decent start to the game, with Spurs catching them on the counter attack.
