'We won't social distance' - Huge anti-lockdown protest breaks out in Edinburgh

Hundreds have gathered outside Holyrood today in a huge anti-lockdown protest where attendees were encouraged to 'refuse to socially distance or wear a mask.'

The protest was live streamed on Facebook by 'Save Our Rights UK', a group of activists who have been protesting lockdown restrictions across the UK.

In a live broadcast from the protest, a man warned the crowd that after 'speaking to a liaison officer' the protestors were being told to "keep apart and keep their distance."

Speaking to the crowd he said: "I've just been speaking to the liaison officers there and to keep this peaceful and keep everything happy can everybody move back a wee bit and spread out a wee bit, they are wanting us to distance and keep apart."

The man was met with anger and shouting from the crowd in which he pleaded with them to "please listen" or face "other consequences."

Members of the crowd booed in defiance, with protestors heard shouting, "Who are you?"
