'We will see' - Youri Tielemans delivers update on future amid Liverpool transfer rumours

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has admitted he is 'open to everything' as he addressed uncertainty surrounding his future.

The Belgium international has two years remaining on his current contract at the King Power Stadium and is yet to extend his stay.

Tielemans emerged as a reported target for Liverpool in the summer transfer window, though a deal for the 24-year-old failed to materialise.

His assured performances since joining the Foxes in 2019 has resulted in interest from top clubs, and Tielemans is in no rush to make a decision.

"There's no update really. I'm open to everything. The transfer market has just closed, but I want to keep as many options as I can open," he told Sky Sports.

"As long as I'm here I will give everything for the club. I've already done so, but I will do so even more. The contract situation is just something that is going on in football, it's a normal situation.

"There are talks going on - I'm not saying I'm going to sign, I'm not saying I'm not going to sign. We will see."

Tielemans scored the winning goal in last season's FA Cup final against Chelsea, helping Leicester to their first title in the competition as a result.

Understandably, the former Monaco midfielder is a player former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers does not want to lose.

Speaking a few days prior to the summer transfer window closing, Rodgers said: "I hope we can have him for longer. Jon (Rudkin, director of football) is meeting with his representatives.

"He is a top-class professional, a great guy and someone I love working with. He is very focused on his football and doesn't get sidetracked at all. As I have said before, I will give him everything to help him continuously improve and he will continue to give us everything too.

"For me and Youri, it just continues - our relationship. Hopefully, we can resolve something in the future."
