'We will regret this' - Arsenal fans despair after Sam Greenwood seals Leeds United move

Arsenal fans fear that the club will regret the departure of Sam Greenwood to Leeds United after the England youth international completed his move to Elland Road.

Leeds have signed the 18-year-old for a seven-figure fee with Greenwood putting pen to paper on a three-year deal at the club as the club continue to bolster their youth ranks.

Greenwood made his mark in Arsenal's youth teams following his 2018 move from Sunderland, initially impressing with the under-18s before breaking through into their under-23s side last season.

His move north has left fans fearing that they are going to miss out on a significant talent with several supporters taking to social media to draw comparisons with Serge Gnabry's 2016 exit. A lack of first-team opportunities saw Gnabry leave for Werder Bremen and he has since gone on to become a German international and key player for Bayern Munich, last week lifting the Champions League trophy.

Here is a look at how the move has gone down among Gunners fans on social media.

Greenwood will initially join up with Leeds' under-23s side, where he will join fellow summer signings Charlie Allen, Cody Drameh, Joe Gelhardt and Dani van den Heuvel.
