'We will regret it big time' - Liverpool fans make Karim Adeyemi transfer demand

Karim Adeyemi caught the attention of Liverpool fans once again as he guided Red Bull Salzburg to a 2-1 victory over Lille on Wednesday night.

The 19-year-old scored both goals for the Austrian side, becoming the youngest German ever to score a Champions League brace - a record previously held by Thomas Muller.

With the result sending Salzburg top of Group G, it was fitting that both Adeyemi’s goals came from the penalty spot, having already won four for his team across their two games so far.

His direct running and movement in the box is a clear issue for defenders and Liverpool fans have called on the club to make a move for the youngster in January, before his reputation increases even further.

Adeyemi has been consistently linked with the club over the last month and his form highlights why there is such speculation over his future.

Aside from his European exploits, the Germany international has scored seven in nine league games for Salzburg this season, a club familiar to both Takumi Minamino and Sadio Mane.

As both Mane and Mohamed Salah are expected to miss a part of Liverpool’s season as they travel to the Africa Cup of Nations in January, fans have called on the Reds to recruit forward reinforcements when the transfer window reopens.

Having enjoyed a breakthrough season last year - earning a regular starting place for the Austrian champions and contributing 16 combined league goals and assists - Adeyemi appears to have taken his performance to the next level this term.
