One of the BEST reads of 2014. To miss it would be criminal…
We are Liars
We are beautiful and privileged
We are cracked and broken
A tale of love and romance
A tale of tragedy.
If one were to ask me what drew me in the most about We Were Liars it would have to be the fact that I, myself, wanted to know the answer to the question – for while I was devouring the book, there was this need to know; the need to know what was happening, what had happened and how everything fit in on an island that could be called a separate world.
From the very first word, Lockhart will have you ensnared you in her trap of words that are mystical, painful and beautiful. There is something so different about the way she writes. It's random, each sentence containing four words, but it's so profound, that after each one of these sentences, you have to pause and think, while you feel this unquenchable need to move forward!
This is a story about power and romance, about corruption and beauty, about riches and death. This story will keep you guessing till the very end, and even then, you won't be satisfied. Once you close the book, fair warning, for you're going to think back, wondering what happened and how it happened, and slowly see how every word, every scene and even the title, was whispering the truth to you all along!
