21 Of The Best Australian Beauty Brands Worthy Of A Place On Your Skincare Shelf

As someone who has worked in the beauty industry for almost 10 years now, I’ve tried a lot of products. You name it, and I’ve probably slathered it on my skin, buffed it into my cheeks or sprawled it across my eyes. So when I tell you that Australian beauty brands are up there among the best, you can trust me.

I’ve got a complete mental inventory of products to pull from, so I figured it was time to give back and share the most-loved Australian beauty brands I’ve found in my travels. Plus, I’ve popped in a few cheeky picks from our mates across the pond in New Zealand because they do damn good beauty too.

These are the best Australian beauty brands that are worthy of the space in your bathroom cupboard.

21 Of The Best Australian Beauty Brands To Add To Your Wishlist

1. Epzen

Simple and chic. (Image: Epzen)

If you’re a baddie with sensitive skin, you probably already know about Epzen. These guys are all about breaking free of the fancy schmancy skincare stereotypes and bringing it back to the basics. Their products are clean, vegan-friendly and cruelty free, with a focus on calming products that won’t aggravate your skin.

2. Skin Control

My eye bags need these, stat. (Image: Skin Control)

Problematic skin girlies, allow me to put you onto Skin Control. This brand has come in clutch time and time again whenever my skin is having a breakout, flaky moment, or needs some extra TLC. I swear by their AM + PM Pimple Patches ($9) and have recently fallen in love with their Glass Skin Facial Mask With Hyaluronic Acid ($13), both are super affordable and haven’t harmed my ultra sensitive skin (roaccutane things xx).

3. Urban Jungle

These would look great on a bathroom shelf. (Image: urban jungle)

Urban Jungle is a fun, colourful Australian beauty brand that taps into the K-beauty world with Korean skincare formulations. They’re all about simplicity, rather than complicating things and overloading your skin with a one million-step routine, which we love!

4. Paralia

We love some aesthetic packaging. (Image: Paralia)

Paralia is the one of the newer Australian skincare brands on the block. It’s inspired by Greek apothecary and botanical-led ingredients. While it only has one signature product out at the moment — the Gaia Glow Olive Nectar Face Oil ($79), as well as a travel size — it’s come in with an absolute bang, combining natural skincare with aesthetic packaging. We’re keen to see what they come out with next.

5. The Breakout Hack Skincare (Tbh Skincare)

Tbh Skincare has rebranded to The Breakout Hack, so that they can launch into the US and UK. They may have a new name, but their formulas and products that have established their cult-like following are still the same. While they only started lining shelves a few years ago, their products fast became everyone’s easy and affordable way to treat acne. Plus, the bottles look super cute lining your shelves.

6. Boost Lab

All grins here. (Image: Boost Lab)

If you’re looking to level up your skincare routine or just stock up on those much-loved empties, Aussie-born skincare brand Boost Lab is one of our favourites on the block. Each serum is dermatologically-tested and designed to counter a range of skin concerns, from hydration to brightening.

7. Lanolips

If I could only carry one skincare product around with me, it’d be a Lanolips 101 balm. (Image: Lanolips)

Known for its cult-favourite lip balms, Aussie skincare brand Lanolips uses lanolin as its hero ingredient to hydrate and nourish cracked skin and chapped lips. They come in a bunch of yummy scents, too (just don’t eat it lol).

8. Vida Glow

Natural Aussie collagen brand Vida Glow offers a range of products designed to fuel your beauty routine from the inside out. Some of their major best-sellers include the natural marine collagen blueberry sachets, the radiance and hairology capsules.

Every Salt by Hendrix product from the Mermaid Oil through to the Body Scrub is worthy of a place in your skincare routine. The brand uses sustainably and ethically sourced certified organic ingredients throughout all of their products, so you don’t need to worry about any hidden nasties.

12. JSHealth

After developing a cult following thanks to their vitamin and supplement ranges, popular Aussie brand JS Health has made their foray into the skincare and haircare game. Both ranges are infused with the high-quality vitamins and botanical actives you know and love from their supplements range, only now your skin and hair can enjoy them too.

13. Frank Body

Frank Body’s naughty branding will forever be my fave. (Image: Frank Body)

Ah, the Aussie skincare company that took over showers everywhere, Frank Body. The majority of us have probably already gotten down and dirty with Frank. Born in a coffee shop down in Melbourne, Frank Body’s hero product is an all-natural coffee scrub that removes dry, dead skin cells, fades stretch marks, and minimises breakouts.

14. The Beauty Chef

The Beauty Chef doesn’t just sell edible beauty, they have great skincare, too. (Image: The Beauty Chef)

Known for its skin-loving powders and elixirs, The Beauty Chef is taking over fridges everywhere. Each formula works from the inside-out to help tackle a range of skin concerns like eczema, allergies and rosacea. Their Glow Inner Beauty Powder has been a staple on my kitchen counter for years.

15. Bangn’ Body

Australian beauty brands

Ahh, Bangn’ Body, the little yellow tube that pulled a Kim K and broke the internet. There was a time when you couldn’t go on social media without seeing an influencer lathering themselves in the pineapple-smelling firming lotion. Since then, they’ve also expanded their range to include a bunch of equally as sweet skincare.

16. Hey Bud

Their clay face mask is super calming for angry skin. (Image: Hey Bud)

Hey Bud Skincare is the home of the hemp-powered beauty products that are taking over people’s bathroom cabinets. They’ve managed to hero hemp in just about everything, and are acne-friendly. Their products aim to clear breakouts and soothe angry skin through natural, calming ingredients.

17. Senne Skin

18. Airyday

The way that book is being bent is killing me. (Image: @airyday.official / Instagram)

Airyday is best known for its light-weight sunscreen that feels like a second skin, but they also make some pretty incredible skincare. The overnight masks do God’s work when it comes to reviving dry and dull skin, tbh.
