We want your views on the local authority elections

Scotland goes to the polls on Thursday, voting for all 32 councils, with a total of 1,227 councillors set to be elected across the country.

Under the single transferable vote system, councillors elected through a mathematical process based on how they are ranked by voters, unlike the first-past-the-post system used in general elections.

The last council elections in 2017 saw no single party take a majority of seats in any mainland council - so they are all either run by a coalition or a minority administration - but that could all be set to change on 5 May.

We've prepared a very short survey below to get an idea of who you're planning to vote for and which party you think has the policies that are best for business.

If you're able to take a minute to fill it out, we'll write up the results shortly before the counting is finished next Friday.

The last council vote saw the SNP remaining as the largest party across the country, after winning 32% of the first preference votes.

It also replaced Labour as the largest party in both Glasgow and Edinburgh for the first time.

The Conservatives increased their vote and number of seats across much of the country, including in some areas where the party had previously not done well.
