We want to hear your thoughts on the furlough scheme ending

The government's job retention furlough scheme is scheduled to come to an end today.

At the start of the pandemic, the furlough scheme initially committed to paying 80 per cent of the wages of employees who were unable to work due to lockdown measures.

Since the scheme was launched it has helped pay the wages of 11.6 million workers.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has expressed he is proud of the scheme, and the £70bn worth of spending committed to it, however reinforced that now is it the right time for it to close.

While the number of workers still fully reliant on the scheme has decreased as more sectors have reopened, it is argued that many workers have not yet returned to the pre-pandemic working hours and still require help to supplement their income.

We want to hear your thoughts on the ending of furlough and if you will be affected by it.

Will it cause you greater financial insecurity?
