'We want to control...': Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah sheds light on Team India's winning approach this T20 World Cup

NEW DELHI: Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah made it clear on Thursday that Team India's approach for the ongoing T20 World Cup is just control the controllables and keep the outside noise out.

The start of the second T20 World Cup semi-final between India, the champions from 2007, and England, the current title holders, has been postponed due to rain at Guyana's Providence Stadium on Thursday.

India remain undefeated in the tournament, showcasing their dominance throughout the event. On the other hand, England's sole victory against a Test-playing nation came when they triumphed over the West Indies, the co-hosts of the competition.

On high expectations, Bumrah said they are just trying to focus on the game.

"Expectations are high but we’re trying to focus on our game and keep the outside noise out. We want to control the controllables. Now we’re waiting for the game to happen. You need to assess the conditions, there are so many variables involved," Bumrah said prior to the start of their semi-final.

"We understand how the game goes and how the opposition plans but we’re trying to focus on our strengths. Arshdeep has set the tone for us, he’s been swinging the ball. As a youngster he’s very clear with his options, that’s a great sign for me,” Bumrah added.
