'We've named our six kids after things we love - one was a joke but then it stuck'

A family has been named after things their parents love - including bands, films and sports stars.

Daughter Bambi gets her name from their mum's favourite Disney film and son Rocky-Tyson after their dad's obsession with boxing.

Mum Pippa Tinsley, 32, and husband Luke, 33, have named all six of their children - aged between three and 15 - after something close to their hearts.

Both parents are boxing fanatics and named their youngest child Rocky-Tyson, three, after Sylvester Stallone's character Rocky Balbo and two-time heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.

They also took inspiration from the sport to name their six-year-old son Hatton - after boxing legend Ricky Hatton, a British former professional boxer.

Pippa knew she wanted one of her girls to have a Disney inspired name and although 'Bambi' started as a joke, the parents quickly fell in love with the name given to their four-year-old daughter.

Their eldest Joel Scofield, 15, was named after the lead singer of Good Charlotte, Joel Madden, and the main character Michael Schofield from the TV show Prison Break.

Their eldest daughter, Autumn-Kyla, 13, was picked in honour of her nanny Sara Houghton, 58, who loved the name.

And Sara-Lileigh, 11, was named after the same nan and is pronounced 'Sara-Lily' - an unusual spelling that Pippa and her mum 'made-up' to make it more unique.

Pippa, a full-time student, who is studying hairdressing and nails, from Grantham, Lincolnshire, said: "There are so many common names out there, why not stand out a bit.

"We're both obsessed with boxing, so we knew there were going to be boxing-inspired names in there.

"Joel recently did some boxing through school and Hatton has started at Amir Unsworth Boxing Academy where his dad used to take him training and he's now old enough to join.

"I also knew I was going to have a Disney name for one of them and Bambi was on a list of ridiculous names, as a bit of a joke, but it just stuck.

"Some people still don't believe that's actually her name.

"To be honest she's such a feral child - we should have called her Mowgli.

"I love all our kids' name and I don't care what anyone thinks - they're fun and unique."

Pippa had her eldest son Joel, 15, when she was 16 years old, and was a huge fan of the American rock band Good Charlotte in her teens.

She was also a big fan of the TV show Prison Break - which helped inspire her son's first and middle name.

The mum, who is 'obsessed' with all things Disney, was determined to have one of her children named after a character from a film.

The parents, including full-time carer Luke, both fell in love with the name Bambi.

Earlier this month, Love Island star Molly-Mae announced the name of her daughter as Bambi on her Instagram page.

Pippa said: "I've been tagged in so many Molly-Mae stories - it's doing my head in!

"It's funny, Bambi has always just been our daughter's name, it's never been this talked about.

"At first I liked Belle, but it was my father-in-law's dog's name - so that was off the table.

"Luke and I both realised we loved the name Bambi, and it definitely suits her."

Two of their boys - Hatton, six, and Rocky-Tyson, three - are a combination of names from real-life and fictional boxers.

Pippa said the name Hatton came to her in a dream and although she wasn't keen on the name Rocky for their youngest son at first, she quickly came around to it.

"We grew-up watching Ricky Hatton and I've always been a big fan," she continues.

"He is such a big advocate for men's mental health - I just love him.

"I had a dream we'd called out son Hatton and Luke agreed that it was meant to be.

"I really wasn't sure about Rocky at first - it sounded like a dog's name.

"But Luke was desperate to name him that because it was his favourite film growing up.

"I had named all of the others, so it felt only fair - as long as I got Tyson in there too, so we compromised.

"I love Tyson Fury so it's a little nod to all the boxer we find inspirational."

Their two middle daughters - Autumn-Kyla, 13, and Sara-Lileigh, 11 - also have unique names that were inspired in different ways by their nanny.

Pippa said: "They're not quite as unusual, but both are still very special to us and have lots of meaning behind them.

"My mum Sara had a cancer scare, and I wanted to name one of my children after her.

"Mum also helped me come up with the spelling for Leliegh - it's so different and no one else spells it like that.

"Autumn was again, inspired by my mum, who wanted to call me Autumn but went with Pippa in the end.

"I was going Autumn Whitney, after Whitney Houston, but then the character Whitney joined Eastender – which put me off the name.

"I don’t like associating their names with anyone else.

"I love how different all of their names and none of them are really outrageous.

"They're all really special and have a story behind them."
